About Base Brain Build
Base Brain Build is an architecture-first engineering studio. We design and build the backends, data flows and cloud infrastructure behind products that have to grow, and the web and mobile apps that run on them. Remote-first, with clients worldwide.
The name
The name is the way we work, in order. Base: understand the ground the system stands on, the load, the data and the constraints. Brain: design before building, and write the design down. Build: deliver working software in short cycles, measure it and run it.
The mark is three lowercase b's rising from left to right, one for each step.
Founder
Vanik Hakobyan
Founder and system architect
Vanik has designed and built backend systems since 2017 and has led engineering teams since 2021: trading platforms for sports betting, data platforms that merge feeds from many providers, real-time processing pipelines, and the APIs behind web and mobile products. He founded Base Brain Build in 2025 to work the same way with clients: architecture first, decisions in writing, and the architect staying close to the code until the system runs.
He leads the architecture on every project, and he is who you talk to first. Vanik Hakobyan on LinkedIn.
The team
One team of backend, frontend and mobile engineers, remote-first, working with clients worldwide across time zones. The people who design a system are the people who build it, so nothing is lost between the diagram and the code.
Our work so far spans sports betting, real estate, retail merchandising, telecommunications, and speech and document processing. The industries differ; the problems are alike: data from many sources, high load, and systems that must keep running.
How we work
- Fixed price for well-defined work, time and materials for ongoing development. Both models, explained.
- Architecture decisions in writing, code review on every change, regular demos.
- You own the code. We work in your repositories and cloud accounts, or build in ours and hand everything over.
- Direct contact with the engineers, and an update schedule agreed at the start.
Not sure where to start? The Architecture Review is a fixed-scope first step for systems that are growing or struggling.
